Music in the Background - 8/16/2009

The universe is a multi-tasking machine, just like everyone in our generation (thanks to the internet).  Since it has its mind on so many things at the same time, it's often distracted and overwhelmed by potentialities...which in turns causes it to not SEE the possibilities present.  As above, so below.  The macrocosm mirrors the microcosm.  The same applies for most of us. 

Anyway, my point is that the Universe has music on constantly in the background to stimulate it's senses, to keep it amused.  Just like most of us have on our computers.  But the Universe has an infinite variety of music.. . and it only really listens to the songs it's in the mood for, when it feels like that particular music fits the moment.  Same with us, our favorite song could be playing on the computer or ipod and if we're busy or distracted we'll tune it out. . but if we're in the mindset for it, we'll groove into it immediately and it'll change our perspective automatically.  Since the Universe constantly has music going on in the background that we're unaware of, I think those great moments in life are when we're "tuning in" to the music that's playing at that moment.  When we really jive with the soundtrack of the cosmos, and we're one with the idea and the melody that the Universe is entertaining at that place and time.

Or maybe the music of the Spheres is perfectly suited to every instant, every location, and every situation.  It's we who either dismiss the song of Spirit, ignore it outright, or refuse to embrace it.....whether out of ignorance, apathy, fear, or laziness, I can't say.  But perhaps choirs of angels are declaring their love of creation in an eternal hymn that subtly echoes throughout eternity, and varies depending on where you are both physically, and in your consciousness. 

This song is the very fabric of reality, and it unites everything in the universe with a sublime, ineffable grace.  If we allowed ourselves to truly hear this music, to be open and receptive to it's beauty and power, than we would transcend the threshold of time and space and once again merge with the Infinite.
